Retired airline captain, former air accident investigator (SCSI), and lifelong aviation professional, I have dedicated my career to the pursuit of safety, precision, and operational excellence in flight. Over the years, I operated a range of classic commercial aircraft, including the Boeing 727, Boeing 767, and Douglas DC-10, building extensive experience in medium- and long-haul airline operations (VARIG Brazilian Airlines).
My professional path also led me to aircraft accident investigation, where I served with Portugal’s GPIAAF (SIAPT), contributing to the analysis of accidents and incidents through a prevention-driven and technically rigorous approach. This experience reinforced a fundamental principle: every occurrence in aviation carries lessons that, when properly understood, enhance future safety.
Today, as a retired investigator, I remain actively engaged in aviation through writing, education, and the dissemination of professional knowledge. My objective is to translate decades of operational and investigative experience into clear, practical insights for those committed to aviation at the highest standard.
